USA Weather
These animations are made by GeoSatSignal (David J. Taylor - Animations) which allows rectification of the oblique satellite view into a more natural projection (orthographic here).  The animations have been converted to MPEG-4 reducing the original 55MB animation to a more reasonable 3.0MB download, which is in DivX format.

If you don't already have Windows Media Player, you can download the free DivX player here

For best results, I suggest you right click the image and select "Save object as" to copy the file to your computer for playing.

These animations are obatined applying LUTS bitmap (Ton Lindemann courtesy) on GOES-E IR hourly images disseminated by Eumetcast:

- LUT361_RCR-CIRA-cc (Severe Weather) this IR enhancement has significant color gradations within the -50 C° to -70 C° (equilibrium level tropopause level) temperature range. Then it is helpful in detecting thunderstorms, but this enhancement is also be tailored to account for seasonal and regional variations of this important cloud top temperature range.
- LUT361_GSS-IR-cc2 (Temperature C°) this GeoSatSignal enhancement version is using the thermal values data for the land and sea features.
