Usefull snow detection and monitoring have been done available by MSG SEVIRI instruments. Processing the images by means of false colours enhancement techniques (RGB and Difference) helps to discriminate between clouds, fog and snow.
The images presented in this pages are obtained daily, processing EUMETCAST Metosat-9 data by means of MSGDataManager and GeoSatSignal (David J. Taylor's tools).
The GeoSatSignal jobs setting, used to obtain false colours images, have been done looking at the very helpfull work "Snow Detection" (J. Kerkmann - Eumetsat), available at Eumetsat "MSG Interpretation Guide" page.
